At Cactus Jack Ranch in Encinal, Texas, big massive whitetail bucks don’t just show up—they’re drawn in with intention. For Ranch Manager Jake Albritton, that intention starts with a consistent feeding program and a product lineup that’s earned a permanent spot in their strategy.
It all began as a simple trial. Jack wanted to see how different attractants compared in the field.
“We first started feeding C’Mere Deer as a trial to test various attractants,” Jack recalls. “After trying several, we had tons of success harvesting specific target bucks using X-Treme Harvest and 3-Day Harvest products. Once our deer figured out what it was, they were hooked!”
The mature whitetail bucks weren’t just stopping by once; they were coming back, again and again, giving hunters more chances to close the distance.
Building a Routine the Bucks Can’t Resist
Jake and his crew target bow setups, refreshing those sites once a day, either in the morning or the evening. And, they top off the feed before every sit, keeping it fresh and irresistible.
They’d always used whole corn in the past, but C’Mere Deer changed the equation.
“The biggest change is the length of time hunting a target buck has shortened,” Jake explains. “Once they’re hooked, those whitetails come back multiple times a day to hit the feed site, which means more opportunities and better chances to close the deal.”
The Key? Consistency.
The approach stays pretty consistent regardless of conditions. Jake and his team use it as an attractant at specific locations where they’re targeting massive whitetail bucks. The key? Once a stand location is selected, they apply it daily.
And when it comes to efficiency, last season brought a small change that made a big difference: the 40-pound bag.
“We loved the 40-pound bag size last fall. It made application easier and lasted through an entire hunt. Consistency is key — if you feed continuously, you’ll have success taking your trophy just like we have.”

The Takeaway for Hunters
For Jake and the Cactus Jack team, the secret to success is straightforward: feed daily, stay consistent, and put the product where it matters most.
“Be intentional about where and when you apply it. Daily feeding keeps massive whitetail bucks coming back, no matter what. It’s all about staying consistent and keeping it fresh.”
From a small trial to a key part of their herd management, C’Mere Deer has helped Cactus Jack Ranch keep mature whitetail bucks on the radar—and in the crosshairs. For hunters looking to tighten up their strategy, the playbook is simple: find what works, stick with it, and feed smarter.
